It’s no secret that I love Navitas Naturals!
After all, many of you will remember how I savored each and every bite of their Blueberry Hemp Superfood Power Snacks!
Why do I love them so?? Well, for one thing they provide tons of unique, healthy goodies that you can easily add to smoothies, frozen yogurt, snack bars, oatmeal…anything, really!
That being said, what I think impresses me most about Navitas Naturals, is that they work hard to ensure they use socially and environmentally responsible business practices. For example, they source their foods through direct partnerships with farming communities around the world. In this way, they are able to create economic opportunities among people in developing countries. This support of native agriculture helps to further the development of global organic farming practices. Not to mention, all of their foods are completely free of additives and trans-fats!
What’s not to love?!?
You’ll be happy to know that these little mulberries do not disappoint. They definitely live up to Navitas Naturals’ awesome reputation!
I, for one, had never actually eaten a mulberry before…in fact, I kind of thought they were a fictional berry made especially for Pop Goes the Weasel.
Slightly embarrassing, but true.
Thankfully, I was wrong.
It turns out mulberries aren’t just for nursery rhymes! In fact, mulberry trees came over the Silk Road to Turkey and have served as food for humans (and silk worms!) for thousands of years.
So, yes, these berries do exist — and they are amazingly nommy! They have a subtle, almost delicate, sweetness with just the right amount of “chewiness.” YUM!! Plus, with Navitas Naturals, you can rest assured that their mulberries are certified organic, kosher, vegan, and raw.
Okay, okay, so they taste fantastic are are high quality. What about nutrition??

Mulberries are packed with vitamin C and are also an excellent source of iron. Plus, they contain resveratrol, a powerful antioxidant that also receives a lot of positive press for being present in red wine (and you know how I love red wine!). Numerous studies have shown how resveratrol helps to promote a healthy heart. I can assure you that these mulberries will also help to promote happy tastebuds, too! 😉
You can use them as you would raisins or dried cranberries in granola, oatmeal, cookies, scones, and muffins! They are also fantastic in smoothies, or even just straight out of the bag for a quick snack.
